            ANZAED/AED Young Investigator Travel Scholarship

            The 2012  ANZAED/AED Young Investigator Travel Scholarship winner has been announced as Deborah Mitchison for her paper: Relationships between Self-Reported Lifetime History of Anorexia Nervosa and Present State Including Health Related Quality of Life. Deb's paper, accepted for presentation at the AED International Conference for Eating Disorders in May 2012 was the most superior amongst a heavily contested field of nine applicants. 

            Deb is currently completing her PHd at the University of Western Sydney, having worked as researcher at the Central Coast Eating Disorder Program.

            Young investigators who have an Abstract accepted at the annual  International Conference on Eating Disorders, run by the international Academy of Eating Disorders (AED), are eligible apply for the ANZAED/AED Young Investigator Travel Scholarship. The Scholarship includes Conference Registration plus $AU3,000 in travel costs.  2013 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS OPEN MID 2012. 


            Peter Beumont Young Investigator Award


            The 2011 Award was given to Perth researcher, Amy Lampard for her paper: The Role of Dietary Restraint in the Persistence of Binge Eating in a Clinical Sample. CLICK HERE to see Amy's Abstract

            The Peter Beumont ANZAED Young Investigator Prize is awarded to a young investigator from a germane discipline who is a member of ANZAED and has submitted the abstract to the ANZAED conference which is deemed to be the best by a selection committee.  

            A young investigator will be eligible if he or she is an honours/fourth year student, a postgraduate student, or within 2 years of a fourth year or postgraduate degree and indicates he or she wishes to be considered for the prize. Evidence of eligibility may be required.

            The prize will be the conference registration (applicants must register to the conference but this will be refunded) and a $500 honorarium. (NOTE: the applicant will need to register, pay registration and attend the conference. His/her paper will be adjudicated at the conference; the winner will then have the conference registration reimbursed and be paid the sum of $AU500.) 

            How to apply
            Applications are made at the time of Abstract Submission via the Conference website.

            Paul Foulkes Clinician Scholarship

            The annual Paul Foulkes ANZAED Clinician Scholarship is a prize for a clinician who is a member of ANZAED and who can demonstrate that their attendance at the ANZAED conference will be of be of substantial benefit to the clinician, his/her organization, his/her clients and the community at large.  A clinician working in the eating disorder field who is a member of ANZAED is eligible to apply for this scholarship.  The Executive Committee will select the applicant it believes best fulfils these criteria. The prize will be exemption from conference registration (24th - 25th August, 2012) and $AU500. All applicants will be advised of the outcome by May 30, 2012.
