The ECR Research Showcase

Presenter: Dr Yafit Kushner and  Dr Kathleen de Boer

You’re invited to join us for the ECR Research Showcase. The showcase is a rapid-fire research session where clinicians and researchers share highlights from their research publication. Each talk is 20 minutes to allow for Q&A and lively discussion and networking.

We have two presenters four our 2026 Research Showcase: Dr Yafit Kushner will be presenting on;  Standardised Minimum Dataset (MDS) Evaluation for Paediatric Eating Disorder Services and Dr Kathleen de Boer will be presenting: Weight loss medications: anthropomorphic profiles and Reddit discourse.

Presenters:
Dr Yafit Kushner is Research and Evaluation Coordinator at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Senior Research Officer at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, and Honorary Research Fellow and supervisor at the University of Melbourne. Her work centres on service evaluation, consumer engagement, and co-design, with a particular focus on using streamlined data collection to enhance patient-centred care and support collaborative research. Since 2023, she has led the development and implementation of an innovative, evidence-based evaluation program for eating disorders at the Royal Children’s Hospital and has collaborated with interstate services and organisations to extend similar approaches across Australia.


Dr Kathleen de Boer is a clinical psychologist and academic at Swinburne University of Technology. Her research focuses on addressing weight stigma, eating disorders and body image as well as engaging with health professionals and consumers to develop resources to reduce risk associated with GLP1 use in vulnerable populations.
