Productivity Commission’s final report into mental health

  • News

ANZAED welcomes the Productivity Commission’s final report into Mental Health released by the Federal Government this week.

The final report is a groundbreaking and comprehensive analysis of Australia’s mental health system.

It is welcome news to see the final recommendations support workforce development and training, as well as prevention programs. In addition, the focus on children, adolescents, and families, and recognised importance of inclusion of carers’ and lived experience voices is significant for the sector.

It is also pleasing to see the report’s acknowledgement that telehealth is an effective option for clinicians and patients who choose to incorporate this into treatment plans.

We look forward to seeing a full response from the government in due course.
